WHY I’m an activist – a short clip on why I’m an activist and advocate for the IBD and Ostomy communities

My Video on Basic Ostomy Care:
(Hollister New Image clear bags 18003, opaque bags 18113, mini clear 18293, opaque mini 18283, and opaque closed 18753 – Hollister wafers 14603 and convex 14803) PS: I should also note that a major product I left out by accident, because I don’t use it, is stoma paste. This paste (I used Hollister’s Adapt paste) can help seal your wafer on your stomach, help protect against leaks, and help your wafer last longer.
Your videos are so helpful – I’m scheduled for surgery February 12, 2013 after a horrible flare of ulcerative colitis that started in November. It been hard to wrap my head around cause I was just diagnosed with ulcerative colitis less than a year ago and it’s already come to this in such a short period of time and out of nowhere. You are so positive and got so much info from your videos I feel like I’m ready to take this on. Thanks so much – keep posting
My surgery is May 23 and I will have a temp stoma, about 6 months I guess. I started to order some of the products you suggest, but I don’t want to duplicate what the Hospital may supply me with. I will call my ins. today and see which suppies they cover. The StomaFlex is an extra I might need. I have 2 dogs that love to jump on me, sit in my lap and yes, they do walk all over me.
I love your positive attitude and the informative videos. I have rectal cancer and have not found anything related to that elsewhere. But once one has a stoma, It may not matter exactly why it’s there. It is treated the same and with the same products. So Thanks again. I look forward to seeing your wedding photos.
You’re getting close, Elisakay! Are you excited or nervous yet? Feel free to send me an email at fullfrontalostomy@gmail.com.
Very informative video ya got there. If I ever go back to an ileostomy I’ll be sure to try some of your recommendations.
Thanks Russ
